The Illinois Itch

So we finally got all of our insurance paperwork back from Jonathan's job, now we can go to the doctor. Well, on Monday we had an appointment to go get my rash looked at. I've had this gross red splotchy itchy rash on my legs for about a week. It seemed to be spreading so we finally made an appointment to get it looked at. Let me just say that I usually don't go to the doctor... previously it was because I had no insurance, but before then it was because they always said the same thing "Take Motrin (Ibuprofen) and call me in a week." I hoped for a better experience this time. I explained to the doctor about all of the allergy related itchy-ness that I had been feeling for the past year, his advice: start taking a daily allergy pill. When he saw my legs, he said "Ah, this is just a simple case of Illinois Dry Skin." Sigh, all I have to do is find a lotion that I'm not allergic to and hydrate my skin. He also gave me a steroid creme to get rid of the swelling and reduce the itching. It seems to be getting better now. So I guess that's good :)

It's so strange, Jonathan keeps getting all of these phone calls from people who are very interested in hiring him...At least it's a sign that he is marketable and very highly desired. When places that are closer to home call, I always remind him (even though he doesn't really need me to) that this is where God wants us to be. It's also helpful that he really loves his current job!

Side-note: If you guys use those neti pots to help clean out your sinuses, BEWARE there is an amoeba (the one that was found in Lake Anna) that can sometimes be found in tap water. This amoeba is very fatal if it is squirted up your nose. So please use distilled water or boil your tap water before cleansing your sinuses. Thanks bunches!!!

We love you all and miss you even more!!!
