So this past Sunday as you all probably already know was Super Bowl Sunday, and let me just say that it is such a fabulous feeling to pick the winning team before the day even begins. :) Yes, it's true, I do enjoy watching football, it's one of my favorite things to do with my dad. This year, since we're obviously not in Virginia anymore, I really missed being able to lean on him and eat his super fabulous oh so delicious hot wings.
Here's a run down of what we did this weekend. We finished gluing all of the screw covers onto our dining room chairs, we put together our end tables, and we met some people here in the land of corn. We went to a local church, it's huge! It kind of reminds me a little bit of the Wave. For the adult service they have smoke and lights and well, it's not like home, but everyone there seems to be really nice. The pastor is starting a new series for the month of February about Marriage. We went to a Super Bowl Party at one of Jonathan's co-worker's cell group. We had fun, played cards, talked, and watched football. It's great, people here know how to play Euchre!!! Jonathan is really excited about that. I played Euchre with Jonathan while keeping a watchful eye out on the Giants. Needless to say I missed two monumental opportunities to Euchre my husband, but in the end my teammate and I won the best two out of three games. It was just a winning kind of night for me haha :) We really enjoyed meeting all of them. They invited us to go to their cell group, so we'll see how that goes. I'm sure it will be lovely.
We got our couch and lamps delivered today! I can't wait to be able to relax on our very own wonderful couch. I hope it's as comfortable as I imagine it to be. Jonathan came home for lunch today and worked a little bit from home so he could be here for when the couch arrived. It was fabulous being able to eat lunch with him.
Tonight if you haven't already guessed, we'll be putting together our couch. Oh, I finally was able to get a good look at those random white birds. We actually have them back home, there they are called sea gulls...once we saw them on the bay and a friend from high school called them bay-gulls. So here, since there is no sea, ocean, or bay, does that make them pond-gulls or river-gulls? Eh, either way, I enjoy being able to see the wonderful birds, that God created, right outside my back door.
Well, I have some errands to run, a closet to rearrange, and a spare room to go through. Ta ta for now or as Tigger always says "TTFN!"
